August 4 Trail Report

We were able to assess damage to trail structures yesterday and fortunately found less damage than previously expected. The worst fire damage seems to be located in the upper Rocky Canyon area (5-Mile, Watchman, Orchard Gulch Trails) and along Fat-Tire and Curlew Trails. The fire burned very hot through these areas and you will encounter a very different landscape.

Watch for areas of burned brush partially obscuring the trail and tread damage due to water movement over fire-loosened soils. Ridge to Rivers crews will repair these areas as soon as we are able to do so.
